Meet Dr. Simranjit Bawa
Dr. Bawa didn’t have to look far for his purpose. He grew up right here in Potomac, Maryland. In the same neighborhoods, on the same streets as many of the patients he now serves. That connection to this community isn’t incidental. It’s the reason he came back, and the reason he built something worth coming back to.
That sense of purpose is rooted in something deeper than geography. As a US-born Sikh, Dr. Bawa was raised with the principles of selfless service to others, woven into his everyday life. For him, dentistry was never simply a career path. It was a natural extension of that commitment: a way to show up for the people around him in a way that’s meaningful and lasting. That philosophy quietly shapes everything at Potomac Crown, from the way the office feels the moment you walk in, to the way his team answers the phone.
Academically, Dr. Bawa’s foundation is as strong as his reputation. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from American University in Washington, DC, before going on to receive his DDS from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2013 — one of the most respected dental programs in the country. He further refined his clinical skills through an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at East Carolina School of Dental Medicine in North Carolina. It was during these years that his passion for cosmetic dentistry and clear aligner therapy began to take real shape.
And take shape it did. In 2022, Dr. Bawa achieved the title of Top 1% Invisalign Diamond+ Provider, a distinction held by only a handful of general dentists across all of North America. In 2025, that recognition went global: he was honored in Dubai as a TOP 150 Invisalign Provider in the World. He is a proud member of the American Academy of Clear Aligners and belongs to an elite group of practitioners known as the Diamond Club Makers. These aren’t just accolades on a wall, rather they’re a quiet guarantee that when you sit in his chair, you’re receiving care from someone operating at the absolute top of their field.
Outside the office, Dr. Bawa is a family man through and through. He loves spending time with his loved ones, exploring new restaurants and cuisines, traveling, and singing. He brings that same enthusiasm and warmth into every appointment, and patients feel it the moment they meet him.

These scanners are central to our Invisalign treatment planning and ensure a precise fit for crowns, restorations, and more. You’ll actually be able to see your own teeth in three dimensions on screen, which makes understanding your treatment that much easier.

Our digital X-ray technology produces high-resolution images with significantly less radiation than traditional film X-rays, so we can see more while exposing you to less. Sharper images mean more accurate diagnoses, earlier detection of potential issues, and better-informed treatment decisions. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes upgrades that makes a meaningful difference in the quality of your care.
